Going where the day takes me.....
I have a new Gateway GM5424 with a Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB DDR2 533mhz ram, 400gb SATA HDD, with an NVIDIA GeForce 7300LE (64mb allocated). I am running Windows Vista Ultimate.

I have purchased object desktop, and every time I install the stardock browser and try to install all the things that come with my OD subscription when I reboot I get thrown into some infinite loop error with the BSOD (blue screen of death). I know that this has something to do with my graphics card, and the fact it dups my system into thinking I don't have enough memory. I cannot turn the hardware acceleration down or off with this particular card . What I was wondering is if there is anyone who knows of some other type of fix for this.

Every time I install anything from OD this happens, then I have to reboot into safe mode, uninstall, then all is well. I am going to buy a better graphics card, but it seems to me there must also be a workaround for this problem, especially considering the specs on my comp. Thanks in advance, and I will keep an eye on the boards

it's not the UAC slowing you down?

I don't think it's a graphics problem, more likely DEP rearing it's ugly head, or UAC as suggested.

Thanks, I tried your advice and still have the same problem. I have googled myself to death but found nothing. I just hope I can get it resolved before my years subscription is up lol. I almost reformatted to install my old XP Pro, but I will give it some more time and research before I throw in the towel.

Sorry for the slow response, out of town on biz. Between Vista and my boss I am slowly being driven to madness.

BTW I am new to forum posting and I see the referals link up there, and was wondering if that was people telling me to try google, or if they googled it and that was their results. At any rate, trust me I have googled like crazy. Just can't seem to find my exact problem.

Thanks all

nope. it's stuff leading back to here.
example: if you click referrals and then click the one for msn, then scroll down, you'll find a link back to this post due to 'Gateway' and 'GM5424' being in the subject

Boot into the bios and set the Video Aperture setting to 256.
